A
Legends Memorabilia Here is your chance to have the rare opportunity to bid on some serious
basketball memorabilia. In 1995, Michael Jordan returned from his retirement to
again play for the Chicago Bulls to assist in getting them to the play offs.
During that brief period of time when he returned he was provided with the
jersey number 45. He played with that number for the remainder of the season but
when it was time to play in the play offs, Michael once again showed up in his
customary number 23 jersey. Though he was fined by the refs for wearing it - as
it was a different number than he ended the season in – he paid the fine and
wore it anyway. Only 3 autographed # 45 jerseys are known to exist in the
world. One of them is held in the Naismith Hall of Fame. Michael Jordan has
one. One lucky auction winner will be the recipient of the third one of these
unique signed jerseys. For a point of reference, one of Michael Jordan’s
jerseys he wore during the Olympics, which was not signed, auctioned for
$60,000 five years ago. This jersey comes with not one, but two, certifications
as to its authenticity from both PCS Sports as well as Grey Flannel appraisals.
The donor of this prized jersey would like to see maximum value received for
the Assists Foundation. Accordingly, he recently pushed to get a low appraisal
for this jersey, $10,500--so that everything the lucky auction winner pays in
excess of that amount is tax deductible as a charitable donation! (Check with
your tax advisor for tax advice.) You may never again have the chance to
acquire an item of such rarity and desirability from such a superstar as
Michael Jordan with largely tax-deductible dollars. (Note: If the Jersey does not meet a minimum bid tonight that is
representative of its auction value, the auction item will be held over to post
on Charity EBay where it will hopefully bring the amount deserving of this rare
and unique find. We hope one of you memorabilia fans won't be able to leave
without it. If sold tonight, 100 percent of the proceeds raised from of this
auction item will go to the Assists Foundation. If the minimum is not met, we
will post this unique jersey on the Charity auction and the Assists Foundation
is still the lucky recipient of 50% of those funds raised.) Who knows what the
value of this item could be worth in another 10 to 20 years--soon it will be in
someone’s private collection. How do you put a price on Michael Jordan
memorabilia like this? Bid now, bid often, and let's raise a lot of money for
this worthy cause. Donated by
Scott and Beverly Shane.
