LAWRENCE, KS (March 15, 2011) - Bill Self's Assists Foundation will host the 3rd Bill's Basketball Boogie on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at the College Basketball Experience at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City. The Boogie will benefit Self's five-year old nonprofit foundation, which awards ten community grants and eight four-year college scholarships on an annual basis and additionally supports various youth initiatives around the state of Kansas.

Bill's Basketball Boogie will feature live music, fine cuisine and open bars, one-of-a-kind live and silent auction selections, VIP amenities and the opportunity to socialize with your favorite Jayhawks and local celebrities.  Sponsorships are available now. Individual tickets will be made available the first week of May.

"We had such a great time the previous two times we held the Boogie, I'm really excited for another party.  We expect this one to be even better. We have to build on our past success because we've got some great kids and organizations to recognize and a lot of money to raise to meet our long-term goals and commitments," stated Bill Self, University of Kansas men's basketball head coach. "We are looking forward to a great night with our friends and, most importantly, raising funds for an important cause."

Self continued, "Once again, I think this will be the party of the summer. I hope a lot of people will come and hang out with our KU basketball family, check out the CBE, get your groove on and have the opportunity to walk away with great gifts and auction items only available at the Boogie."
